Notes on the quantum mechanical derivation of the Wallis formula for $\pi$. (arXiv:1704.06153v1 [math-ph])

Some comments on the Friedmann and Hagen's quantum mechanical derivation of
the Wallis formula for $\pi$ are given. In particular, we demonstrate that
Lorentz trial function, instead of the Gaussian one used by Friedmann and
Hagen, also leads to the Wallis formula. The anatomy of the integrals, leading
to the appearance of the Wallis ratio, are carefully revealed. 查看全文>>
