Tomorrow, April 22nd—Earth Day—scientists, people who love science, and citizens concerned that government policies are increasingly detached from empirical reality will march in Washington, D.C., and nearly five hundred other cities around the world. Like any large group of protesters, the science marchers have struggled to craft their mission statement. “The March for Science champions robustly funded and publicly communicated science as a pillar of human freedom and prosperity,” they write, on their Web site. “We unite as a diverse, nonpartisan group to call for science that upholds the common good and for political leaders and policy makers to enact evidence based policies in the public interest.” 查看全文>>
